This class will focus on improving the hunters’ rifle fundamentals, understanding of the rifle scope and setting up a ballistic ap on their cell phone in order to engage targets from 100 to 450 yards. The class will start with refinement of the basic rifle fundamentals from the prone position or bench position. Students will be instructed on how to use bipods and front and rear support bags (if the shooter has those itemss - we highly recommend that students bring a front and rear support bag). The student should arrive at the start of the class with the rifle zeroed with their selected ammunition at 100 yards. Students will receive tips on how to improve their shooting positions to tighten up their rifle groups while at the same time obtaining their rifle’s velocity utilizing a ballistic chronograph. Students will be assisted with entering information into the Hornady ballistic ap that they should have already downloaded on their smart phone prior to class. Students may bring their hunting ammunition and training ammunition in order to obtain the velocity of both ammunitions to enter in their ballistic phone ap.
Once the students have their ballistic aps operational the shooters will spend the rest of the time adjusting their scopes and engaging targets at varying distances with help of the instructors spotting their round’s impacts. Shooters will also be showed how to use spotting scopes to watch the “trace” of the bullets flight in the air and into the target.
