Also called optics, electronic sights, "red" dot, etc. - these terms all refer to this sighting device that projects a dot - usually red or green - onto the screen mounted on the slide of the firearm. You simply focus on the target and place the dot where you want the bullet to impact. The benefit of dot sights is that they allow the shooter to be target-focused, which is the natural human response in almost any situation. Red dots on handguns are the future as far as sights on handguns are concerned.
