-Emergency Medical Response Instructor
Lucas is a police sergeant for the Chicago Police Department with over 14 years a law enforcement experience. He has performed duties as a beat officer, tactical officer, and field training officer in the patrol division. He is also a US Navy Reserve Master at Arms (military police officer) with over 19 years experience. Lucas currently serves as small arms marksmanship instructor and range safety officer for Navy Region Mid-Atlantic Reserve Component Command Great Lakes. He overseas all aspects of firearms and tactical training for the Reserve Force’s Armed Watch Stander Program, which provides critical Anti-Terrorism/Force Protection capabilities to Reserve Component personnel and facilities in an 8 state region. In previous assignments in the Naval Service, he served onboard Maritime Expeditionary Security Squadron 8 as Weapons Training Petty Officer, as a journeyman instructor with Navy Education and Command, and in seaward and shore based security in support or Operations Enduring Freedom and Iraqi Freedom.
Lucas is also a trained Combat Lifesaver and National Registry Emergency Medical Technician. He played a pivotal role in the development and delivery of first aid/self-aid for trauma injuries series of courses for Spartan Tactical Training Group, a nationally recognized firearms training company based in the Midwest region. He has taught firearms and Tactical Combat Casualty Care at the national level for state, local, and federal law enforcement agencies. Lucas is a graduate of the University of Illinois Police Training Institute Police Firearms Instructor training and certification program and has attended numerous firearms and tactical training courses from Combat Shooting and Tactics LLC, Spartan Tactical Training Group, General Dynamics Simunition, Safariland Shooting School, Bank Miller, and Action Target Academy.
